At Skilled Hearts, our mission is to empower individuals with special needs by providing training in kitchen and restaurant skills that lead to meaningful employment opportunities. As a nonprofit organization, we depend on the generosity of our supporters, donors, and community partners.
This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds may be issued for donations, event payments, and purchases made through SkilledHearts.org or related programs.
2. Donations
All donations made to Skilled Hearts are considered final and non-refundable, as they are immediately allocated toward our mission-related programs and community initiatives.
However, we understand that errors can occur. Refunds for donations will be considered on a case-by-case basis if:

A duplicate donation was made in error.

The donation amount was entered incorrectly.

The transaction was unauthorized or fraudulent.
Requests for donation refunds must be submitted in writing within 15 days of the transaction date to info@skilledhearts.org.
3. Event Registrations
If you register for a Skilled Hearts event, class, or training session and are unable to attend:

Refunds may be granted up to 7 days before the event date.

Cancellations made within 7 days of the event may be eligible for a partial refund or credit toward a future event.

In the event of a cancellation by Skilled Hearts, registrants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer registration to another date.

4. Merchandise and Product Sales
For physical or digital products sold through our website or fundraising events (e.g., branded merchandise, handcrafted goods, or educational materials):

Refunds are accepted for defective or damaged items reported within 14 days of receipt.

Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
To initiate a return, email info@skilledhearts.org with your order number, a brief description of the issue, and photos if applicable.
5. Processing Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed using the original method of payment (e.g., credit card, PayPal). Please allow 7–10 business days for the refund to appear on your account, depending on your payment provider.
